Mr. Snyder, 77, of Altoona, died Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at HAIDA Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, Hastings. He was born August 27, 1946, in Philipsburg, a son of the late William C.. and Margaret Jane (Hosband) Snyder. On July 27, 2002, in Altoona, he married Louella P. Heltebran who survives along with a brother James A. Snyder of Sinking Valley and a sister Linda J. Kuhn of Hollidaysburg. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers David Snyder and Robert Snyder and a sister Denise Daye.
Bill was a 1964 graduate of Tyrone High School and had been a machinist. Most recently he owned and operated Snyder Trucking in Warriors Mark. He was an ordained minister, ministering at Blair County Prison and was a lifetime member of the Ordination of Senior Chaplains. He had written Christian columns published in the Tyrone Daily Herald.
He was a member of New Life Worship Center, Altoona, where a memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at 11:00 am, with Pastor Wayne Schaffer officiating. Friends will be received at the church an hour prior to the services.
