Walter Fiedor, Sr.

Mr. Fiedor, 87, Hollidaysburg, formerly of Glasgow, died Thursday, July 14, 2011 at ARHS-Altoona Hospital. Born April 13, 1924 in Glasgow a son of the late Joseph and Kathryn (Babicz) Fiedor. On March 27, 1948 in Coalport he married Georgette L. Chaplin who died May 2, 1993. Surviving are three children Barbara A. O’Dell of Canandaigua, NY., Patty M. D’Alassandra of Dallas, TX. and Walter A. with whom he lived, 6 grandchildren, 2 greatgrandchildren and 3 siblings Josephine Apple of Tyrone, Andrew of Penfield and Verna Chilcote of Dillsburg. He was also preceded in death by 2 brothers Frank and John and 2 sisters Anna Shope and Mary Kuhn. He retired from Rushton Mining Co. of Philipsburg and was a US Navy Veteran of WWII. Friends will be received Sunday 2-4 pm at the McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow. Interment in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Glasgow.
