Virginia Louise (Rickard) McGarvey

     Mrs. McGarvey, 85, of Hollentown, died Thursday, July 18, 2024, at UPMC-Altoona.   She was born February 19, 1939, in Hollentown, a daughter of the late Blair E. and Isabelle (Reffner) Rickard.  On January 18, 1958, in Winchester, VA., she married Robert J. McGarvey who survives along with five children: Blair J. (Darlene) McGarvey, DeeDee L. (Terry) Miles and LeeAnn “Annie” McGarvey, all of Hollentown, Randy S. McGarvey of Glasgow and Bob J. (Dana) McGarvey of Utahville.  Also surviving are eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and three sisters: Blairetta G. Dillen of Chardon, OH., Vicki L. Beunier of Ebensburg and LuAnn Cotter of Virginia Beach, VA.  She was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter Ashley McGarvey,

     Virginia was a 1957 graduate of Reade Twp. High School and for ten years had driven school bus for Reynolds Motor Co., Glasgow.  She had attended Hollentown Assembly of God Church and the Fiske Community Bible Church.

     Family and friends will be received at the McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow, for a viewing on Monday, July 22, 2024 from 1:00 pm until the hour of services at 3:00 pm with Pastor Jim Smeal and Pastor Joe Hollen officiating.  Burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Glasgow.
