Obituary

     Mr. Warsek, 73, of Glasgow, died peacefully Sunday, January 8, 2023 at UMPC Altoona with his family by his side.   He was born May 17, 1949, in Philipsburg, a son of the late John and Wilma L. (Rhodes) Warsek.  On March 27,1976, in Glasgow, he married Bonnie J. Bartley who survives along with four children: Tonya L. (Robert) McCully of Rosebud, Shelly A. Warsek and Sherry L. (Nathan) Burns, both of  Smoke Run and Shawn A. (Carrie)  Warsek of Glasgow.  Also surviving are two grandchildren Payton and Aiden McCully, four step-grandchildren Dakota and Dylan Cross and Don and Cheyenne Guess, and two sisters Nancy L. Nash of Bellwood and Debra J. Queen of Irvona.  He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother John “Pumper” Warsek and a sister Cindy Warsek.

     Ron served in the United States Army as a Specialist Four during the Vietnam War.  He retired as a coalminer from Tanoma Coal Mine in Dixonville.  He was a life member of the Richard L. Beers VFW Post #7043, Coalport and was a member of the United Mine Workers.  His life enjoyment was centered around his family and hunting and fishing with his son.

     It was Ron’s wishes that all services be private and at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements by McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow.
