Mr. Shomo, 74, a resident of Maybrook Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Altoona and formerly of Hollentown, died Monday, January 13, 2025 at the center. He was born February 11, 1950, in Philipsburg, a son of the late Donald C. and Grace E. (Beers) Shomo. He is survived by five siblings: Larry D. Shomo of Dysart, Phyllis J. Hescox of Roaring Spring, Linda D. Nardelli and Rusty W. Shomo, both of Coalport and Lora L. Weakland of Bedford. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Jerry Shomo.
He was a 1968 graduate of Reade Twp. High School and had been employed as a dragline oiler for the former Benjamin Coal Company in LaJose.
Friends and family are invited to his viewing on Friday, January 17, 2025 at the McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow from 2-4 pm & 6-8 pm with funeral services interjected at 7:00 pm with Pastor Bob Queen officiating Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Glasgow.
