Robert H. Matthews

     Mr. Matthews, 84, Glasgow, died Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at his residence.  He was born August 23, 1928 in Glasgow, the son of the late Robert D. and Minta E. (McGarvey) Matthews and on November 28, 1955, in Coalport married Elizabeth Jane Williams who survives along with 5 children and 8 grandchildren: Robert C. (Deb Gabrielson) and their daughters Nicole and Kate of Glasgow, Sherry J. Brako and her son Jeb of Point of Rocks, MD., Deborah A. (Mike) Baker and their daughter Jessica of Frederick, MD., Susan M. Hill and her daughter Megan of Frederick, MD.  and Michelle L. Mulhollen and her children Derek Matthews and Luke and Lexi Mulhollen all of Glasgow.
     He was a 1946 graduate of Reade Twp. High School.  He had attended Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Glasgow and was a member of the Coalport Lodge #574 F&AM and the Jaffa Shrine, Altoona.  He was self-employed in various enterprises, and was a former board member at Glendale School District and the Reade Twp. Municipal Authority as well as being Secretary/Treasurer of the Pleasant Hill Cemetery Association.
     Friends will be received Sunday 2-4 & 6-8 at the McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow where funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 am with Rev. Edwin Hollen officiating.  Interment in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Glasgow.  The family requests that in lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Association.
