Best known as Bob, Mr. Cochran, 88, of Fallentimber, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2024, at UPMC-Altoona. He was born December 5, 1935, in Brush Valley, a son of the late William J. and Bertha (Matthews) Cochran. On May 12, 1989, in Hollentown, he married Jane C. Potter Feather who died October 11, 2015. Surviving are eight children: Paul W. (Jeannette) Cochran of Lancaster, Robert J. Cochran of Maryville, LA., Joseph E. (Annette) Cochran of Nicktown, Lenny D. (Dawn) Cochran of Fallentimber, Jennifer (Patrick) Flora of Bakerton, Melanie Cochran of Colver, Thomas M. (Kostanca) Cochran in Germany and Mitch Cochran of Portage, three stepchildren James S. (Sherry) Feather, Jr, and John F. (Lisa) Feather, both of Glasgow and Michele L. Cochran of Fallentimber, 30 grandchildren including Amanda Cochran who took amazing care of her Pap, 30 great-grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren. Bob was raised in a large family, one of 15 children and is survived by just two sisters Ruby Travis of Brush Valley and Margaret Prosser of Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Jane, two sons Alan Ward Cochran and Forrest A. Cochran, a grandson Forrest A. Cochran, Jr., and a son-in-law Jeffrey M. Younkin.
Bob had been employed as a logger before going to work at Bethlehem Mines #33, Ebensburg, retiring from there and then had a backhoe service. He enjoyed tending to his chickens, cutting firewood and all things outdoors as he was an avid hunter, a legacy he passed down to, and is cherished by, his children and grandchildren,
A viewing for friends and family will be held Wednesday, March 6, 2024, from 5 pm until the hour of services at 7 pm at the McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow. Fr. Robert Reese will officiate.
