Mr. Peacock, 86, of Coalport, died Sunday, November 30, 2025 at Penn Highlands-Tyrone. He was born January 28, 1939, in Coalport, a son of the late Robert W., Jr. and Margaret M. (Pyzowski) Peacock. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson Joseph Richard Reifer, named after his grandfather, four brothers Robert, Jr., Donald, Lawrence and James and two sisters Jane Keith and Barbara Irvine. Surviving is his loving wife of 47 years, the former Beverly A. Traveny whom he married in Winchester, VA. on October 6, 1978., five children Kelli R. (Brian) Rydbom of Coalport, Gaylene M. (Richie) Rydbom of Coalport, John E. (Tammy) Maczko of Stevens, PA., Brian J. (Kim) Peacock of Coalport and Marcy J. (Steve) Skebeck of Coalport, ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and a sister Eileen Troxell of Philadelphia. Also surviving are numerous brother and sister in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Richard was a 1957 graduate of BCI High School and had served in the United States Army as a Specialist 4th Class. He retired in 2004 from TYK Refactory in Irvona. Rich was a loving father and grandfather, enjoying his loving family beyond words. He loved to tinker in his tool shed building bird houses or fixing things. We were grateful to have had him in our lives and shall miss him forever.
A memorial service will be planned and announced when the warm weather returns in 2026. Arrangements by McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow.
