Mr. Fortney, 55, Van Ormer, died Sunday, June 6, 2010 at ARHS-Altoona Hospital. Born September 24, 1954 in Altoona a son of the late Raymond E. and Pearl (Matthew) Fortney. On October 22, 1994 in Hollentown he married Karen S. Hollen who survives along with 1 son Richard T., Jr. of Pittsburgh, 4 siblings Jerry of York, Gary of Blandburg, Carol Stiver of Tyrone and Barbara Sinclair of Coalport and numerous nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by 2 sisters.
He was a 1974 graduate of Glendale High School and was employed as a heavy equipment mechanic for Grannis Bros. of Hollidaysburg. He had attended the Hollentown Assembly of God where funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 am. Friends will be received 2-4 & 6-8 Wednesday at the McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow and Thursday 10:00 am until the services at the church. Pastor Joe Hollen will officiate and burial will be in Beaver Valley Cemetery, Flinton.
