Mr. Gwinn, 79, Mountaindale, died Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at his residence. He was born June 9, 1930, in Mountaindale, a son of the late Howard J. and Cathryn R. (Waple) Gwin. On July 27, 1957, in Winchester, VA., he married Elizabeth A. Spanik who survives along with four children Robert L. (Becky Lloyd) Gwinn of Tyrone, James S. Gwinn at home, Leanne M. (Pete) Jenkins of Mountaindale and Susan E. (Craig) Correll of Hamburg, six grandchildren Krystle and Gabriel Fowler, Jimi (Cora) Gwinn, Dylan and Caleb Gwinn and Lucas Correll and three great-grandchildren Keegan Gwinn, Carter Gwinn and Ava Marie Gwinn. He was also preceded in death by an infant son Joseph, a grandson Thomas C. Gwinn-Fowler, and two brothers Richard Reynolds and Jack Gwin.
Lee was a 1948 graduate of Reade Twp. High School and served in the United States Marines during the Korean War as a Private. He was a carpenter supervisor for Patwill Homes, Leesport.
He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Frugality where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday December 19, 2009 with Fr. Sean Code officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Glasgow. Friends received at the McQuown Funeral Home Friday 2-4 & 6-8 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family and/or St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.
