Mr. Franks, 79, Blandburg, died Thursday, November 18, 2010 at ARHS-Altoona Hospital. Born April 3, 1931 in Blandburg a son of the late Bruno L. and Lois F. (Miller) Franks. On August 31, 1957, in Winchester, VA. he married Patricia J. Smith who survives along with a daughter Robin L. (Charles III) Sluzenski of Pottstown, a daughter-in-law Debbie Kaye, 5 grandchildren Josh, Amanda, Chuck, Derek and Rikki Nicole, 3 greatgrandchildren Savannah, Ava and Jayden, and 3 siblings Lorraine Forbes and Joan Ochranek, both of Altoona and Buzz of Blandburg. He was also preceded in death by 2 sons Russ and Rick, a brother Thomas and a sister Maxine Burns.
He retired in 1993 from PPG-Tipton. He had served as a Boatswains Mate 3rd Class in the Navy during the Korean War and was a member of the Bellwood Eagles, VFW and American Legion.
Friends will be received Saturday 7-9 pm, Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the McQuown Funeral Home Glasgow, where funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 am with Fr. Sean Code officiating Interment in Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood.
