Mr. Hollen, 95, Van Ormer, died Monday, January 9, 2006 at the Altoona Hospital. He was born July 28, 1910 in Hollentown, a son of the late Andrew C. and Estella (Spencer) Hollen and was twice married, first on February 17, 1934 in Coalport to Marie F. Beers who died on June 23, 1990 and second on November 2, 1991 in Hollentown to Evaleen Glass who died on April 4, 1998. Surviving are 6 children: Milford P. and wife Mary of VanOrmer, Barbara A. Hamilton and husband Edward of Glasgow, A. Lorraine Mayes and husband Joe of Gill Hollow, Carol J. Whitehair and husband Robert of Calico Rock, Arkansas, Gladys E. Wallace of Hollentown and Rev. Joseph L. and wife Becky of Lock Haven. Also survived by 21 grandchildren and numerous great and greatgreatgrandchildren. He was also preceded in death by 3 infant children, a daughter Ruth Simmers, a granddaughter Barbara Bruggeling, a grandson Gary Hollen, 4 brothers William, Joseph, Clifford and Gilbert and 4 sisters Roxie Nash, Gladys Glass, Ethel Rickard and Margaret Britten.
He was a coalminer and retired as a polisher with SKF Industries, Altoona. He was a member of the Hollentown Assembly of God where funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Dean Hinton, officiating. Interment in Beaver Valley Cemetery, Flinton. Friends received Tuesday 7-9 pm and Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow and Thursday 1-2 pm at the church.
