Mrs. Hamilton, 92, a resident of Epworth Manor, Tyrone and formerly of Fallentimber, died Saturday, February 6, 2021 at the manor. She was born January 31, 1929, in Van Ormer, a daughter of the late Clair E. and Bernice A. (Tonkin) Shomo. On June 3, 1947, in Hollentown, she married Leroy G. Hamilton who died June 9, 1970. Surviving are six children: V. Wayne (the late Teresa) Hamilton, John M. (Carin) Hamilton and Kelly B. (Ron) Keith, all of Fallentimber, Terry L. (Mary) Hamilton of Coalport, Dan C. (Sharon) Hamilton of Glen Hope and Penny L. Hamilton of Baltimore, MD., 17 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild with one expected.. Also surviving are four sisters: Jean L. Lucas of Irvona, Shirley F. Carrazzone of Yorktowne Heights, NY., Connie A. Kruise of Coalport, and Eleanor V. McClellan of Dillsburg. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter Anne Abrams and three brothers Bud, Donald and Dwayne.
Mildred had been a cook at several area restaurants and was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Irvona where funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, February 11, 2021 with Pastor Doug Williams officiating. Friends will be received 6-8 pm Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at the McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow. Interment in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Glasgow. It is suggested that masks be worn at the church services.
