Mr. Reffner, 73, Glasgow, died Sunday, January 11, 2009 at his residence following a lengthy illness. He was born July 9, 1935, in Glasgow, a son of the late Merle C. and Kathryn (Kruis) Reffner. On June 5, 1959, in Winchester, VA., he married Donna J. Swope who survives along with 2 children: Jerry L. (Nancy McGinnis) of Altoona and Kathi L. (Mark) Gates of Fallentimber, 4 grandchildren: Kevin (Jessica) Reffner, Cory Butler, Justin Butler and Michele Gates, a special greatgrandson Paxton Reffner and a special friend Louie Keith He was also preceded in death by a sister Dorothy Lewis.
He was a 1953 graduate of Reade Township High School, served as an E4 in the Army from 1958-1960, retired in 1997 after 29 years employment at PPG Industries, Tipton and enjoyed his family, hunting with his boys, making arrowheads and working with his son-in-law. He was affiliated with the Roseland Christian Fellowship Church when funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 pm with Pastor Jon Hommer officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Friends will be received at the McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow, Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 pm and at the church Thursday noon-2 pm.
