Mrs. Fox, 98, Allemans, died Monday, July 11, 2016 at her residence. Born July 31, 1917 in Windber a daughter of the late Fedor and Helen (Kimak) Gerula. On February 20, 1939 in Houtzdale she married Grier B. Fox who died June 29, 2006. Surviving is a daughter Lydia Fox of State College, a granddaughter Cortney Frasier of North Carolina and her children Martin, Gabriel and Elliott and a grandson Christian Case of Allemans. She was also preceded in death by seven sisters Eva Vargo, Pauline Koval, Ann Dahut, Catherine Stopko, Helen Oldham, Veronica Miller and Margaret Latchney and seven brothers John, Paul, Michael, Frank, Peter, Andrew and Alexander. Two sisters-in-law Bertha and Martha Gerula also survive.
Mary had been a member of the Bellwood Eagles Ladies Auxiliary. She loved gardening, needlework, reading, baseball and NASCAR.
Friends will be received Thursday July 14, 2016 from 1-2 pm at the McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow, followed by a graveside funeral service at Oak Grove Cemetery, Allemans with Pastor Clare Pannebaker officiating. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Penn Highlands-Clearfield Hospice and/or any Meals on Wheels.
