Mrs. Ford, 70, Beaver Valley, died Sunday, May 10, 2009, at her residence. She was born October 24, 1938 in Beaver Valley a daughter of the late Ernest and Gussie I. (Hollen) Potutschnig. On May 23, 1959, in Winchester, VA., she married Thomas L. Ford who died July 8, 1989. Surviving are four children Kenton L. (Susan Gallaher) Ford and Melanie (Robert) Wigfield, both of Beaver Valley, Tammy (Ronald) Hanna of Mundy's Corner and Penny (Dennis) Smeal of Coalport, seven grandchildren Neil Ford, Geoffrey Ford, Christopher Hanna, Michael Wigfield, Cameron Wigfield, Ashley Hanna and Brooke Smeal and four siblings Alice (Joseph) Amick of Martinsburg, Ernest (Sandy Wallace) Potutschnig of Flinton, Edward (Lorraine Gates) Potutschnig of Irvona and Carl (Linda Krepps) Potutschnig of Altoona. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter Cathy Sue and one sister Shirley Gates.
Mary was a 1957 graduate of Morrison's Cove High School and was co-owner at Ford's Welding, Flinton retiring in 2003. She was a member of Glendale Assembly of God Church, Coalport where she was a Sunday School Teacher and Mission's Coordinator.
Friends will be received 1-9 pm Saturday, May 16, 2009 at McQuown Funeral Homes, Glasgow and then 2 pm until the 3 pm funeral services Sunday at the Glendale Assembly of God Church, Coalport. Mr. William Barnhart and Pastor Jason Garnicz will officiate. Burial will be in Beaver valley Cemetery, Flinton.
