Martha M. (Hanna) Close

     Mrs. Close,  93, a resident of Allemans since 1988 and formerly of Bellwood, died Saturday, May 30, 2009 at Tyrone Hospital.
     She was born September 2, 1915, in Allemansville, a daughter of the late William H. and Irene (Cree) Hanna.   On September 18, 1941, in Brisbin,  she married Carl Close who survives at Epworth Manor, Tyrone, a son Zane (Pam) Close of Chandler, AZ., a daughter Zoe (Mick) Tarel of San Diego, CA., and grandchildren Amber Close and Dane Tarel.  She was also preceded in death by a twin sister Margaret Steele and 3 brothers Clyde, Howard and Earl.  
     She was a 1934 graduate of Reade Twp. High School and had been employed as a store clerk at Mountz Store, Janesville and then Bland’s Store and Sakmars 5 & 10 in Bellwood, retiring in 1979.  She attended the Allemansville United Methodist Church and previously the Olivet Baptist Church, Bellwood.
     Friends will be received Thursday 6-8 pm and Friday 10 am until the hour of services at 11 am at the McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow.  Pastor Dennis McCracken will officiate.  Interment in Oak Grove Cemetery, Allemans.
