Mrs. Kovaloski, 84, a resident of Garvey Manor, Hollidaysburg, and formerly of Blandburg, died Wednesday April 18, 2012 at the manor. She was born May 12, 1927, in Blandburg, a daughter of the late Nicholas and Esther (Shingler) Simon. On August 28, 1948 in Blandburg she married Francis R. Kovaloski who died September 6, 2004. Surviving are 2 children: Annette M. (Don) Fishel of Martinsburg, WV. and Francis R., Jr. of Blandburg. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren and 12 greatgrandchildren and 2 sisters Deloris Turner of Melbourne, FL. and Pat Yingling of Alexandria, VA.. She was also preceded in death by a brother Robert and a sister Betty Glinsky.
She was a 1945 graduate of Reade Twp. High School, retired in 1988 after being employed for 20 years as a Quality Inspector at Proctor-Silex, Pinecroft and attended St. Joseph’s Chapel at Garvey Manor where a private funeral mass will be held with Monsignor Robert Sally officiating.
Friends will be received at the McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow Monday 2-5 pm. Interment in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Glasgow. In lieu of flowers please make contributions in Marian’s memory to Garvey Manor, Hollidaysburg.
