Mrs. McClellan, 90, a resident of Epworth Manor, Tyrone, and formerly of Blandburg, died Monday, March 14, 2011 at the manor surrounded by her family. She was born March 17, 1920 in Blandburg a daughter of the late Calvin A. and Lena (Arnold) Thomas and on May 22, 1948, in Altoona, married Jay B. “Red” McClellan who died December 30, 2003. Surviving are three children: Jaye (Tony) Spanik and Renee Gates, both of Blandburg and Jeffrey (Shirl) of Tyrone, 7 grandchildren Melissa (Chris) Evanskey, Heather (Mike) Jenkins, Jason (Nichole) Spanik, Aaron Spanik, Christopher (Kalee) McClellan, Jennifer (Jason) Skebeck and Gabriel (Christie) Gates, 2 step grandsons John (Tracey) Zimmer and Jason (Karen) McPhail, 9 greatgrandchildren Zarek, Brittany, Caleb, Jade, Olivia, Aiden, Brady, Emma and Madilyn, a sister Irene Lovell of Mechanicsburg and a brother Robert of Bellwood. She was also preceded in death by a son Joel, a grandson Jeffrey McClellan, 2 sisters Ellen Berger and Catherine Kostyack and a brother Calvin.
She was a loving mother and grandmother and was a member of Blandburg United Methodist Church and had served in the US Army as a Technician Fourth Grade during WWII.
Friends will be received Thursday 5-8 pm at the McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow, where funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 with pastor Barry Weyant officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Glasgow.
