Mrs. VanScoyoc, 93, Blandburg, dies Sunday, August 3, 2008 at Bellemeade Manor, Altoona. She was born August 29, 1914 in Altoona a daughter of the late William C. and Anna E. (Murray) Smith. On May 9, 1932, in Bellefonte, she married Charles E. VanScoyoc who died October 6, 1982. Survivng is a son Charles W. VanScoyoc of Glen Rock, twp grandchildren and one great-grandchild and three siblings E. Mae Beamer of Tyrone, Geraldine E. Kines of St. matthews, SC. and William M. Smith of Altoona.
Known as Petie, she retired in 1976 as a Postal Clerk in Blandburg after 22 years employment. She was a member of the Blandburg United Methodist Church where she played the organ and piano, as well as in many area churches. She taught organ and piano for many years.
Friends will be received Wednesday, August 6, 2008, from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow, where funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 am with Pastor Jon Hommer and Rev. Joe Onder officiating. Burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Glasgow.
