Joyce C. (Carter) Apple

     Mrs. Apple, 81, a resident of Garvey Manor Nursing Home, Hollidaysburg and formerly of Hollentown, died Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at the home.  Born July 6, 1929 in Orbisonia a daughter of the late William L. and Claira M. (Byers) Carter.  On August 14, 1948  in Winchester, VA. she married T. Merle Apple who died April 8, 2010.  Surviving are 3 children: Sharolyn C. (Wayne) Ivory of Patton, Gary C. (Joyce Grimes) of Roseland and Michael L. (Jerilyn Ponist) of Glasgow, 6 grandchildren Kenneth, Andrew and Brandon Ivory, and Brent, Jessica and Dylan Apple and 3 greatgrandchildren Aidan, Ian and Gavin Ivory.  She was also preceded in death by a brother William.  She was an Altoona High School graduate.
     She attended the Hollentown Assembly of God  where funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 am.  Friends will be received 2-4 & 6-8 Thursday at the McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow and Friday 10:00 am until the services at the church.  Pastor Joe Hollen will officiate and burial will be in Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood.
