John Joseph Stropko

Obituary

Mr. Stropko, 82, of the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home, and formerly of Summerhill, died Monday, December 27, 2021 at UPMC Altoona.  He was born June 18, 1939, in Johnstown, a son of the late John J. and Verna (Gima) Stropko.  Surviving are two sisters Helen Nolte of Johnstown and Mary Anne Stropko of Richmond, VA.  He was also preceded in death by a brother Nicholas Stropko and a sister Margaret Durica. 

        John was a graduate of Johnstown High School and had been employed as a steelworker at Bethlehem Steel in Johnstown.  He served in the United States Army as a Private during the Vietnam War.

     There will be no visitation or services.  Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery, Johnstown.  Arrangements by McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow.
