Mr. Riddle, 82, a resident of Graystone Court, Clearfield, and formerly of Mahaffey, died Friday, July 10, 2026, at Mountain Laurel Health and Rehab, Clearfield. He was born October 16, 1943, in Johnstown, a son of the late John Mitchell and Isabelle (Beck) Riddle, Sr. He married Donna Marie DeMelio in New Washington on August 15, 1992. Donna survives along with John’s two children Kimberlie Riddle of Nebraska City, NE. and Stephen (Kelly) Riddle of Mahaffey, four grandchildren Candice (Don) Dowland, Isaac Riddle, Thomas (Katie) Riddle and Johnny (Taylor) Riddle and seven great-grandchildren Keaton, Kendra, Dawson, Audie, Knox, Alessa and Violet. Also surviving are two brothers James (Colleen) Riddle of Indiana and Thomas (JoAnne) Riddle of Bethlehem. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter Sue Ervin.
John was a 1961 graduate of Purchase Line High School and served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War as an Airman Second Class. He had been employed as a bulldozer operator at Benjamin Coal Co., then at Prushnock Coal Co., and lastly at Arcadia Coal Co. He was a member of the New Washington Hope Springs Church, served on the board of the New Washington Cemetery and was past mayor and council member of New Washington Boro.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Thursday, July 16, 2026 from 5-7 pm and again on Friday from 11:00 am until the hour of services of 1:00 pm, all at Mt. Calvary Chapel Church, Mahaffey. Pastor John White will officiate with Pastor Jeffrey Schneider assisting. McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow is in charge of the arrangements.
