John J. Piestrack, Sr.

      John J. Piestrack, Sr., 59, Beccaria,  died Monday September 12, 2011 at ARHS-Altoona Hospital Campus.  He was born June 17, 1952 in Philipsburg, a son of the late John J. Piestrack and the former Mary G. Frantz.  Surviving is his companion of 20 years Peggy S. Warner, their daughter Michelle D., his mother, and brother Thomas, all of Beccaria and these siblings: Christine M. Barrelle of Elizabethtown, Barbara A. Mosley of Shippensburg, Elaine C. Washell of Shallotte, NC., Ronald B. of Oak Harbor, WA. and Joyce F. Hannah of Portland, TN.  He was also preceded in death by a son John, Jr. on August 30, 2011.
     John was a 1970 graduate of Glendale High School, had served in the Navy during the Vietnam War and had worked as a mechanic for Manson Bus Co., Madera.  He was a member of the VFW-Smithmill and the American Legion-Clearfield.
