Obituary

     Mr. Ozio, 54, of Hastings, formerly of Blandburg, died Friday, July 28, 2023 at the UPMC-Altoona emergency department following an apparent heart attack.  Affectionately known as Oz he was born June 20, 1969 in Altoona, a son of John J. and Diane J. (Thompson) Ozio.  On November 19, 2006, in Winchester, VA., he married Janice M. Kuhn who survives along with his mother Diane J. (Jim) Moyer of Blandburg, two brothers Ben Wilkinson of Altoona and Steve Ozio in Arizona and a sister Julie Ozio of Bellwood. Oz was preceded in death by his father.

     John was a 1987 graduate of Glendale High School and drove truck for THP of LaJose.  He served in the United States Marine Corp. and had been a member of the former St. Richard’s Catholic Church, Blandburg, where he served as an altar boy.  He loved his wife dearly and enjoyed riding with her in their side by side.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was active in making concrete statues and woodworking.

     A funeral service outside of Mass will be held at noon, Monday, July 31, 2023 with Fr. Robert Reese officiating.  Friends and family will be received at the McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow on Monday from10:00 am until the hour of services.  Burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Glasgow.
