Janet G. (Clarkson) Maruna

     Mrs. Maruna, 66, Flinton, died Saturday, January 24, 2015 at her residence following a long battle with cancer.  She was born April 8, 1948, in Philipsburg, a daughter of the late Billy S. Clarkson and Mildred F. Gabrielson Wheeler who survives of Utahville.  On October 19, 1968, in Coalport, she married Willis D. Maruna who survives along with four children: Stacy G. Johnston and her companion Scott Davis of Dysart, Willis D. (Cheryl) Maruna of Beaver Valley, Kelly J. Maruna and her companion Bill Bickel of Bellwood and Chad D. (Sarah) Maruna of Wellington, FL., eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and five siblings Patricia A. Chaplin of Hollentown, Mike Clarkson of Irvona, Gary Clarkson of Utahville, Neil Clarkson of Osceola Mills and Scott Clarkson of Washington, PA.

     Janet was a graduate of B.C.I High School and attended Utahville United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed her family, Florida, flowers and playing bingo.  She had been employed at General Cigar-Philipsburg, Bickel's Surplus-Altoona and Double K Restaurant-Flinton.

     Friends will be received Tuesday 2-6 pm at the McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 6:00 pm, Rev. Darlene R. Wiewiora officiating.  Interment in Lyleville Cemetery.
