Mrs. Grove, 89, went to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Monday, April 10, 2017, surrounded by her family. She was born November 27, 1927 in Bentleyville a daughter of the late Jack and Ethel (Granus) Haddad. On June 10, 1950 she married James C. Grove in Pittsburgh. He preceded her in death on October 4, 1995 after 45 years of marriage.
Surviving are two daughters, Lynne E. Grove of Altoona and Cheri D. (Bernie) Fratt of Myrtle Beach, SC. and a son Rev. James C. (Debbie) Grove II of Erie. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, a brother Fred (Alice) Haddad of Fresno, CA., a brother-in-law Howard (Nora) Grove of North Huntingdon and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a sister Cecelia Leone and brothers Philip and Michael.
Affectionately known as Sister Grove, she was a member of New Life Worship Center, Altoona, where she served on the Board and was involved with the Women’s Ministries and the Sr. Adult Ministry. She and her husband pastored churches in Duquesne, Corry and Parsonville for over 40 years. She was the District Director of the Women’s Ministries of the Penn-Del District of the Assemblies of God.
She will be dearly missed by her family and her many friends.
Friends will be received from noon-3 pm & 5-8 pm on Monday, April 17, 2017 at the New Life Worship Center at 600 Ritts Road, Altoona and again on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 from 10 am until the service of celebration at 11:00 am with Pastor Wayne Schaffer and Pastor Rick Ritenour officiating. Interment will be in Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood. Arrangements by McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow.
