Mr. Rickard, 78, of Fallentimber (Bumble Bee), died Monday, October 20, 2025, at UPMC Altoona. He was born October 11, 1947, in Altoona, a son of the late Raymond E. and Gladys M. (Markel) Rickard. On January 31, 1968, in Cumberland, MD., he married Anna Louise Lewis who survives along with a son Donald J. (Heather) Rickard of Blandburg, a daughter Tammy L. Rickard and her husband Paul Dikum of Duncansville, three grandchildren Amanda and Raymond Rickard and Jamie Weakland and three great-grandchildren Caiden, DJ and baby Oliver Rickard who was born just hours before Jim’s passing. Also surviving are two brothers R. Dale (Vi) Rickard of Hollentown and Richard E. Rickard in Alaska. He was preceded in death by his parents
Jim was a 1967 graduate of Glendale High School, had been employed as a heavy equipment operator for various construction companies and had attended the former Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed traveling across the country on hunting expeditions. He would travel all over the Western United State and Florida, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Northern Ontario. Despite being an avid hunter, he loved animals especially his pet crow Jimmy Jimmy.
A viewing for friends and family will be held Friday, October 24, 2025, from 5-7 pm at the McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Glasgow.
