Mr. Alley, 68, of Blandburg, died Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at UMPC Altoona. He was born June 16, 1954, in Altoona, a son of the late Paul M. and Patricia A. (Anderson) Alley. On July 13, 1985, in Blandburg, he married Margaret C. Fortney who survives along with four children: James R. Alley, Jr. of Tyrone, Kimberly S. Alley of Bellwood, Rory C. Fortney of Blandburg and Margaret C. “Katie” Turner and her husband Jeff of Osborne, KS. Also surviving are fourteen grandchildren, one great-grandson, two brothers, five sisters and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
Jim was a 1973 graduate of Bellwood-Antis High School and served his country during the Vietnam War as a Private 1st Class in the United States Marine Corps. He was a self-employed “Jack of all Trades” but was best known for his metal fabrication and welding skills.
At his request there will no viewing. A memorial gathering will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2022 from11:00 am until noon at the McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow.
