Mr. Ball, 89, Smoke Run, died Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at his residence. Born April 28, 1931 in Utahville a son of the late Guy L. and Esther C. Gault. On June 17, 1954, in Georgia, he married Pauline M. Bennett who died February 6, 2012. Surviving are three children Grace (Lloyd) Lane of Smoke Run, Guy L. (Jane Rue) Ball, III of Madera and Bill L. (Eileen Yarger) Ball of Banion. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren and two siblings Wesley Ball and Carrie Stephens both of Utahville. He was also preceded in death by a son Alfred Holcombe, a granddaughter Sarah Ball, five brothers Thaddeus, Timothy, Dennis, Stephen and Walter and three sisters Cecelia Kuzub, Bona Burns and Beryl Eichorn.
Guy served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War. He was a self-employed logger.
Friends will be received Sunday, October 2, 2016 2-4 & 6-8 pm and Monday 10am till the 11am funeral services at the McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow. Chaplain Jane Ball will officiate. Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Utahville with Richard L. Beers VFW Post #7043, Coalport conducting military honors.
In lieu of flowers the family feels that Guy would want any memorial donations be made to the Xavier Ball Medical Fund, First Commonwealth Bank, Houtzdale, PA. 16651. Xavier is Guy’s great-grandson who has been battling Tubular Sclerosis Complex most of his life.
