Gladys M. (Markel) Rickard

     Mrs. Rickard, 85, a resident of Golden Living-Hillview, formerly of Bumble Bee, died Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at ARHS-Altoona Hospital Campus.  She was born June 18, 1923 in Fostoria, a daughter of the late James and Maude (Fulkerson) Markel.  On August 23, 1944, in Glasgow she married Raymond E. Rickard who died July 21, 1989.  Surviving are three sons: Raymond D. of Hollentown, James L. of Bumble Bee and Richard E. of Mountaindale.  Also surviving are 4 grandchildren, 5 greatgrandchildren and two sisters: Beatrice Littwin and Margaret Faschint, both of Harrisburg.  She was also preceded in death by 3 brothers: Frank, Richard and James and 3 sisters: Eleanor Lewis, Dorothy Zolad and Sarah Ginsel.
     At Mrs. Rickard’s request, there will be no visitation and/or services.  Arrangements by McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow.
