Mrs. Carnahan, 100, of Fallentimber, died Thursday, February 9, 2023, at Ridgeview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Curwensville, just a few days short of her 101st birthday. She was born March 30, 1922, in Fallentimber, a daughter of the late William F. and Dessie M. (Price) Simmers. She was twice married, first on June 8, 1938 in Glasgow to Dennis C. Caber. He died November 19, 1975. She then married Robert C. Carnahan on July 9, 1984 in Mountaindale. He died November 27, 1986. She was also preceded in death by a son and daughter-in-law Kenneth and Jeannie Caber, a son Bernard Caber, a daughter and son-in-law Donna and George Hockenberry, a son-in-law Ralph Mallin, seven sisters Dessie Wasilko, Alice Fitzpatrick, Caroline Helbig, Anna Reffner, Pearl McConnell, Agnes and Margaret and three brothers John, Leroy and Herbert. She is survived by four children Marjie M. Mallin of Houtzdale, Rev. Gary W. (Jeannie) Caber of Wellsboro, Nancy M. (Les) Kruis of Greenville, VA., and Darrell C. (Deb) Caber of Reinholds, a daughter-in-law Jane Caber of Ephrata, 16 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
Geraldine was a member of Mountaindale Baptist Church where funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, February 13, 2023 with Pastor Ben Warfel officiating. Viewing will be Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow and again on Monday from 10:00 until the time of services at the church. Burial will be beside her husband in Allemansville Cemetery.
