Gerald W. Mellott

     Gerald W. Mellott, 79, Hollentown, died Monday, February 1, 2021 at Hillview-Golden Living Nursing Home, Altoona.  He was born March 12, 1941, in South Fork, a son of the late Gerald E. and Mary A. (Flemming) Mellott. On January 24, 1961, in Arlington, VA. he married M. Jane Mayes who survives along with two daughters: Mary J. (Robert) Noren of Hollentown and Brenda L. (Chris) Lindsay of Lillington, NC., five grandchildren Jerry Giles, Jessica Noren, Robert Noren, Amanda Bruce and Michelle Lindsay and five great-grandchildren Dylan, Landon, Braelyn, Olivia and Matthew.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother William Mellott.

      Jerry was a 1960 graduate of B.C.I. High School and retired in December 1991 as a bookkeeper for Arlington County, VA.  He had attended the Beaver Valley United Methodist Church.

     Abiding by his wishes, there will no viewing or services.  Burial will be in Beaver Valley Cemetery, Flinton.  Arrangements by McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow.
