Mr. Hockenberry, 71, Ephrata, formerly of Blandburg, went to be with his Lord surrounded by the prayers of his loved ones Thursday, September 21, 2006 at the Hospice of Lancaster County. He was born December 29, 1934, in Irvona, a son of the late Michael A. and Cynthia I. (Boyles) Hockenberry. On May 31, 1959, in Irvona, he married Donna B. Caber, who survives along with 3 children: Bonnie S. Keith and Vernon W., both of Ephrata and William L. of Elizabeth City, NC. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, 3 sisters: Elizabeth Queen of New Millport, Agnes Queen of Coalport and Betty Sabol of Beccaria. and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister Dora Houle and a brother John.
He retired in 1995 from F&M Hat Co., Denver, PA. having been previously employed by Slinky of Hollidaysburg and Marhofer Bakery, Altoona. He was a member of Grace Evangelical Church, Ephrata.
Friends received at the McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow Monday 2-4 & 6-8 pm and at the Mountaindale Baptist Tuesday 1:00 until the 2:00 services with Rev. Ben Warfel officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, LaJose, RD.
