Frank L. Mayes

     Mr. Mayes, 56, Van Ormer, died Thursday, April 14, 2011 at his residence.  He was born June 28, 1954 in Altoona a son of the late Floyd L. and Genevieve M. (Hollen) Mayes.  On February 28, 1981 in Blandburg he married Deborah J. Noel who survives along with two sons Billy J. of Tyrone and Thomas L. and his fiance Kayci of Bellwood, 6 grandchildren and these siblings Jane Mellott of Hollentown, Alice Boulton of Clearfield, Charles of Blandburg, Carolyn Smith of Patton and Jerry of Van Ormer.  He was also preceded in death by a sister Julia Terry. 
He had been an equipment operator for Reade Twp. Road District and was a life member of Reade Volunteer Fire Company performing onscene security and traffic control.  Billy and Tom followed his footsteps into the fire company as well as other companies..
     Friends will be received Monday 11:00 am until the hour of services at 1:00 pm at the McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow with Pastor Joe Hollen officiating.  Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Glasgow.  In lieu of flowers, please make contributions made payable to the funeral home.
