Mrs. Laird, 83, of Allemans, died Monday, February 21, 2022, at her residence. She was born October 29, 1938, in Allemansville, a daughter of the late William Earl and Geraldine E. (Glasgow) Hanna. On July 22, 1961, in Grantsville, MD., she married John D. Laird who survives along with son Ken D. (Karen) Laird of Allemans and their children Nathan and Maggie, daughter Sonalee M. (Lee) Tetu of Baldwinsville, NY. and their children Hanna, Ezrielle and Anykalee and daughter Jenelle I. (Tom) Henry of Kutztown and their children Braden and Emily. She is also survived by a sister Cynthia A. (George) Pifer and a brother Ronald E. Hanna, both of Allemans and numerous nieces and nephews.
Frances was a 1956 graduate of Moshannon Valley High School. She had been employed at various companies including an assembly line worker at Sylvania Electric in Altoona, a secretary at Glendale school district, a manager at Boyer Candy, Altoona and retiring as a secretary at Columbia Ancillary, Houtzdale.
She attended Allemansville United Methodist Church where friends and family are invited to a viewing on Saturday, February 26, 2022 from 1:00 pm until the hour of services at 3:00 pm. Pastor Clare Pannebaker will officiate. Burial will be in the Allemansville Cemetery.
