Mr. Thompson, 79, Blandburg, died Saturday, October 14, 2006, at his residence. Born September 1, 1927 in Rosebud a son of the late William C. and Evelyn (Weakland) Thompson. On March 20, 1949, in Mahaffey, he married the former Elizabeth M. Brown who survives along with a son James W. at home. Also surviving is a sister Edna Macalusa of Pittsburgh. He was preceded in death by 4 brothers: Harvey, Leroy, Bill and Carl and 3 sisters: Willetta Salsgiver, Shirley Gidosik and Betty Smeal.
He was a 1945 graduate of B.C.I. High School and was a member of the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Glasgow. He was a member of the Scottish Rite and the Jaffa Shriners, both of Altoona and the F&AM Lodge, Coalport. He retired from PPG Industries, Tipton in 1992 and was a local barber. Viewing and services will be private. Arrangements by McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow. Interment in Cambria Mills Cemetery, Glasgow.
