Ernest V. Smeal

     Mr. Smeal, 73, Ramey, died Wednesday, January 30, 2008 in the Clearfield Hospital following an apparent heart attack.  He was born December 18, 1934, in Irvona, a son of the late Roy and Nellie (Smith) Smeal.  On January 16, 1959, in Clearfield, he married Christine Katishen who survives along with a daughter Jill A., of Keewaydin, 1 grandson Christopher Paul Kephart, and siblings John of Madera, Danny of Ramey, Richard of Niagra Falls, NY., Ed of Mineral Wells, TX., and Shirley Whitzel of Coalport.  He was also preceded in death by 2 brothers Leroy and Robert.
     He was owner/operator of Ernie Smeal Trucking, Ramey and was employed by CMP, Philipsburg as a deliveryman.  He was a member of the Osceola Lodge F&AM, the Jaffa Temple and the Altoona Consistory.
     It was Mr. Smeal’s wishes for all viewing and services to be private.  They will be held at the McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow with  The Very Reverend Father James E. Poorman officiating.  Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ramey.
