Elsie V. Hughes

     Miss Hughes, 92, a resident of Valley View Home, Altoona and formerly of Blandburg, died Saturday, October 15, 2005 at the home..  Born May 16, 1913 in Altoona a daughter of the late George and LaRue (Shingler) Hughes.  Surviving are 3 nieces: Marian Kovaloski, Deloris Turner and Patricia Yingling.  She was preceded in death by 2 sisters: Esther Simon and Helen Hughes and niece Betty Glinsky.  She graduated from Saxton-Liberty High School and retired as a cook from the Penn Alto Hotel, Altoona.  .
     Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00am with Rev. George Gulash officiating.  Interment in Fochler Cemetery, Bedford Co.  Friends received at the McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow,  Monday 6-8.
