Ms. Atkins, 79, of Madera, died Saturday, December 25, 2021 at Mountain Laurel Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield. She was born August 14, 1942, in Altoona, a daughter of the late Edward and Thelma (Sutter) Hall. Surviving is a daughter Annette M. (Thomas) Wilson of Coalport, a son Douglas G. (Jennifer) Atkins of Madera, 5 grandchildren Jessica (Clinton Thompson) Wilson, Danielle (Mike Smith) Wilson, Dr. Chris (Kirsten) Wilson, Deven (Morgan Reardon) Atkins, Macy Atkins and two great-grandchildren Dylan and Leslie. Also surviving is her good friend and travelling companion Sandy Corrigan of Philipsburg. She was also preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law Myrna (Max) Mick and her ex-husband William G. Atkins.
Known as Ellie, she was a 1960 graduate of B.C.I. High School and graduated from Shadyside Hospital Nursing School. She had been employed as an RN on the Dialysis Unit at Altoona Hospital and then was a nursing supervisor at Windy Hill Village, Philipsburg. She was a member of Allemansville United Methodist Church.
There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Arrangements by McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow.
