Mrs. Garman, 82, a resident of Arlington, VA. for 60 years, formerly of Glasgow, died Thursday June 28, 2007 at her residence. Born February 22, 1925, in Glasgow, a daughter of the late Charles E. and Flora M. (Kuhn) Bricker. On July 12, 1947, in Winchester, VA. she married Robert C. Garman who survives along with a 3 children: James Garman and Susan Garman, both of McLean, VA. and Sandra (Ed) Vickers of Delmar, DE., 2 grandchildren Todd (Holly) Vickers and Holly’s son Tyler all of Felton, DE., and Tara Vickers of Charlotte, NC. Also surviving are 2 sisters: Vivian Bungo of Smithmill and Ruth Williams of Ramey. Also preceded in death by 5 brothers Robert, Ivan, Paul, Harold and Perry and 3 sisters Marguerite Garman, Mary Spinner and Helen Evans.
She was a 1943 graduate of Reade Twp. High School and a 1946 graduate of the Altoona Hospital School of Nursing. She had been employed as a private duty nurse in Washington, DC. She was a member of the Resurrection Lutheran Church and the Eastern Star, both in Arlington.
Friends received Sunday 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow, where funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 am, Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Glasgow. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Arlington. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, 124 Park St. SE., Vienna, VA. 22180.
