Mr. Shore, 79, Glasgow, died Monday, March 22, 2010 at his residence. Born August 21, 1930 in Rosebud a son of the late Edgar A. and Eula (Morrison) Shore. On August 8, 1953 in Glasgow he married Joanne M. Troxell who survives along with 2 children: David G. (Jan Strawhun) of Rolla, MO. and Elizabeth A. (Jim) Scott of Glasgow, 4 grandchildren Katie (Joe) Mulia of Columbus, GA., Arielle (Gene) Spivey of Hattiesburg, MS., Chris Scott in Maryland and his companion Renee Rusnak and her son Dane of State College, Justin Scott of Glasgow, 2 step-grandchildren Cory (Lee) Standridge of Mt. Vernon, IL. and Andy (Casey) Kuhljuergen of Rolla, MO. and a stepgreatgrandson Tyler Standridge.
He graduated from Beccaria Twp. H.S. in 1948, served in the Air Force as an Airman 1st Class during the Korean War, and graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Accounting in 1956. He retired as an accounting manager for AmTrak in Washington, DC. In 1988.
He was a life member of the Coalport VFW, had served on the board of the Reade Area Ambulance, and was a life member of the Penn State Alumni Association and was a member of the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Glasgow.
Friends will be received Thursday 6-8 pm at the McQuown Funeral Home Glasgow, where funeral services will be held Friday at 10:00 am with Pastor Susan Yatta officiating. Interment in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Glasgow where military honors will be conducted by the Coalport VFW.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the Wounded Warriors Foundation or Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Glasgow.
