Mrs. Hockenberry, 75, Ephrata, formerly of Blandburg, went to be with her Lord surrounded by the prayers of her loved ones Friday, June 9, 2017 at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy. She was born March 15, 1942, in Fallentimber, a daughter of Dennis C. and Geraldine C. (Simmers) Caber. On May 30, 1959, in Irvona, she married George V. Hockenberry, who died September 21, 2006. Surviving are three children: Bonnie S. Keith of Blandburg, Vernon W. of Lititz and William L. of Elizabeth City, NC. Also surviving is her mother Geraldine C. Carnahan of Fallentimber, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two sisters: Marjie Mallen of Houtzdale and Nancy Kruis of Staunton, VA., and three brothers Rev. Gary W. of Wellsboro, Bernard A. of Ephrata and Darrell C. of Reinholds. She was also preceded in death by her father and a brother Kenneth.
She had been employed at Weaver’s Market, Reinhold as a Deli Clerk, retiring in 1996. She was a member of Grace Evangelical Church, Ephrata.
Friends received at the McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow Tuesday 2-4 & 6-8 pm and at the Mountaindale Baptist Wednesday 1:00 until the 2:00 services with Rev. Ben Warfel officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, LaJose.
