Clair Ellis "Duke" Downs

Mr. Downs, 82, of Fallentimber, died Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at his residence.  He was born November 6, 1943, in Coalport, a son of the late Charles M. and Sylvia M. (Gates) Downs. He married Irene E. Mulhollen on January 25, 1969, in Hollentown. Irene survives along with two daughters Billie Jo Downs of Coalport and Elizabeth (David) Zaffuto of Saltsburg, four grandchildren Daniel (Trinity) Zaffuto, Matthew Sanders and his girlfriend Charlie, Madison Downs, and Holly Zaffuto, one great-granddaughter Terri Zaffuto and one great-granddaughter, Taylor Zaffuto, soon to be born.  Duke is also survived by seven siblings: Charles and Bob, both of Coalport, John, Dave and Rick, all of Fallentimber, Earl of Beccaria and Ellen Ibberson of Philipsburg.  He was also preceded in death by a daughter Heather Bouch, a sister Nancy Lidwell and two brothers Gary and Ken. 

    He had been employed as an equipment operator for Grannas Bros.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding his motorcycle and driving truck.

     A memorial gathering will be planned and announced at a later date.  Arrangements by McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow.
