After a long and hard-fought battle with cancer, Pork is now at peace—resting in the arms of the Lord, free from pain, whole again and finally home.
Mr. Zimmerman, 36, of Smithmill, lovingly known as “Pork” or “Pudge” was born on February 21, 1990 in Philipsburg. He passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, April 18, 2026. He is the cherished son of Charles Edward Zimmerman Jr. and Lena Joy Stover. Pork was a beloved brother to Jonathan (wife Keena) Stover of Ramey, Dustin L. Zimmerman and Jeremy J. Zimmerman, both of Smithmill and Megan R. Zimmerman of Houtzdale and her significant other Jared. He was a proud and devoted uncle to Bryelle, MaKayla, Jayce, Amaya and Eliannah, loving them deeply as if they were his own children. He is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Dorothy Stover, of Smithmill, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and more friends than could ever be counted—each one touched by his presence but his true MVP through this journey was Mikey Conklin of Clearfield.
He was preceded in death by his loyal fur companion, Odie, his paternal grandparents Charles Edward Zimmerman Sr and Clara Belle Waite-Zimmerman; his uncle Randy Hockenberry; aunt Louise Shomo, cousins Robert Shomo and William Patrick Simmons and maternal aunt Barbara Stover.
Pork lived life in constant motion. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved exploring and had a special way of bringing home new animals that quickly became part of his world. He had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone, never hesitating to help those in need. Known for having no filter, Pork spoke his mind freely, always honest, always real—and those who loved him wouldn’t have had him any other way. He found peace in the simple moments—late nights under the sky, music playing, surrounded by the people he loved most. Those quiet, meaningful times were where his soul felt most at home.
He was a 2008 graduate of Moshannon Valley High School and held a Criminal Justice degree, graduating from YTI-Altoona in 2011. He was a true jack of all trades and worked in many different fields over the years, including florist work at Moshannon Valley Floral as well as countless other roles. No matter what he did, he brought his unique personality, strong work ethic and unmistakable presence with him.
Above all, Pork was a Christian by faith. His life, in its own way, reflected love, connection and a deep-rooted spirit that will never be forgotten.
