Mr. Wasilko, 83, of Blandburg, died Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at Maybrook Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Altoona. He was born September 25, 1941, in Windber, a son of the late Charles I. and Clara Z. (McConnel) Wasilko. On January 12, 1963 in Altoona he married Martha R. Marlin who survives along with five children Sandra L. (David) Schirf and Karen S. (Gary) Miller, both of Tipton, Lori A. (James) Smeal of Smithmill, Charles I. Wasilko, Jr. and Richard A. Wasilko, both of Blandburg, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother Stanley R. Wasilko of State College and a sister C. Renee Delozier of Bellwood. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Efema Dixon, a brother Allan Wasilko and a son-in-law John Yarger.
Known as Sonny, he was a 1960 graduate of Reade Twp. High School and retired in 2004 as a dragline operator for C&K Coal Co., Blandburg. He was a member of the Fiske Community Bible Church. He loved reading and studying his Bible and listening to country music. He was happiest when surrounded by his loving family, especially the grandkids and great-grandkids.
Friends and family are invited to his viewing on Saturday, February 22, 2025 from 4-7 pm and again on Sunday from noon until the 2:00 pm funeral services all at the McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow. Services will be conducted by his son-in-law Pastor Jim Smeal. Burial will be in Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood.
