Mr. Troxell, 75, Glasgow, died Saturday, September 11, 2004 at his residence following an extended illness. He was born in Altoona on July 14, 1929 the son of the late Elizabeth M. Troxell and on January 20, 1951, in Pittsburgh, married Eileen Peacock who survives along with a daughter Charlene M. Troxell of Altoona, a son Charles E. Troxell of Odessa, TX., 7 grandchildren: Heather E. Troxell of Katy TX., Dr. Rebecca E. Risbon of Eatontown, NJ., Charles E. Troxell, Jr. and wife Vanessa, Amber N. Troxell and Kevin V. Phipps, all of Midland, TX., Ashley M. Troxell of Odessa, TX., Laura M. McGill of Tacoma, WA. and 1 greatgranddaughter Cavaran Troxell of Midland, TX. He had attended Reade Twp. High School and enlisted in the US Navy in 1947 as original crew member aboard the USS Coal Sea as a gunner’s mate. He was stationed in Norfolk, VA. and also did tours of duty throughout the Mediterranean Sea. He retired in 1991 from C&K Coal Company in Blandburg as a heavy equipment operator. He was also a member of the Eagles Lodge #1859, Bellwood. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, country western music and was an avid NASCAR fan. Friends will be received 2-4 & 7-9 Wednesday at the McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow where funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 am with Pastor Jim McBride, chaplain of Raceway Ministries at Dover International Speedway, officiating. In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to the Cambria County Hospice, Ebensburg, PA. and/or the local American Cancer Society..
