Charles W. Smith, Sr.

     Mr. Smith, 59, Patton, died Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at Miner’s Hospital, Hastings, from an apparent heart attack.   He was born August 3, 1949 in Philipsburg  a son of the late Abraham J. and Alice A. (Mansel) Smith, Sr.  On November 4, 1981, in Texas, he married Carolyn L. Mayes who survives along with 5 children: George D. (Brenda) of Clearfield, Charlie W., Jr. (Sherry) of Philipsburg, Lisa J. (Randy) Cassidy of Tyrone, Charlie W., Jr. (Margaret) of Juniata and Eric S. (Lisa) of Patton.  Also surviving are 9 grandchildren and 6 siblings: Jessie Weld of Philipsburg, Margaret, Debbie, Teddy and Robbie all in Texas and Abe of Juniata.  He was also preceded in death by a brother Bill.
     He was a member of the Hollentown Assembly of God where a memorial service will be held Monday, December 22, at 2:00 pm.  Friends will be received at the church from 1:00 pm until the hour of services.  Arrangements by McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow.
