Carl Close

     Mr. Close,  97, Epworth Manor, Tyrone, a resident of Allemans since 1988 and formerly of Bellwood, died Thursday, October 15, 2009 at Epworth Manor, Tyrone.
     He was born May 19, 1912, in Janesville, a son of the late William and Ellen (Smith) Close.   On September 18, 1941, in Brisbin,  he married Martha M. Hanna who died May 30, 2009.   Surviving are a son Zane (Pam) Close of Chandler, AZ., a daughter Zoe (Mick) Tarel of San Diego, CA., and grandchildren Amber Close and Dane Tarel.  He was also preceded in death by 5 brothers John, Andy, George, William and Irvin.  
     He was a 1930 graduate of Madera High School and had been a carpenter by trade.  He attended the Allemansville United Methodist Church and previously the Olivet Baptist Church, Bellwood.
     Friends will be received Sunday 6-8 pm and Monday 10 am until the hour of services at 11 am at the McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow.  Pastor Dennis McCracken will officiate.  Interment in Oak Grove Cemetery, Allemans.
