Mr. Rickard, 87, Hollentown, died Saturday January 28, 2006 at the Altoona Hospital. Born October 31, 1918 in Hollentown a son of the late William and Viola “Ollie“(Hill) Rickard and was married to Isabelle Reffner in Glasgow on November 13, 1937. She died May 24, 1997. Surviving are 4 daughters: Virginia L. McGarvey of Hollentown, Blairetta G. Dillen of Chardon, OH., Vicki L. Beunier of Ebensburg, and LuAnn Cotter of Virginia Beach, VA.. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren & 12 greatgrandchildren and a sister Ida Lunghoffer of Hobart, IN. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Raymond, Willis and Wilmer and 2 sisters Beulah Dunn and Florence Mento, 1 granddaughter Lori Dillen and 1 greatgranddaughter Ashley McGarvey. He had retired as a Superintendent of Rushton Mines, Philipsburg in 1981. He was a member and past lay minister of the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, a member and past master of the Masonic Lodge, Coalport, the IOOF, Glasgow and the Jaffa Shrine.
Friends received Monday 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow, where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 pm with Revs. David Hammerle, Dean Hinton and Jack Winger officiating. Interment in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Glasgow. Masonic memorial services by the Coalport Lodge 7:00 pm Monday at the funeral home.
